Good policy depends on the people who make it. Policy Foundry Africa helps young Africans build the skills, judgement, and character to shape the policies that shape their lives.
Why we exist
Policy decides how Africans learn, work, vote, and stay healthy, yet the routes into policy work are few and hard for young people to find. Most policy training reaches people in the middle of their careers, and few young Africans get the chance to read, analyse, and write about real policy before their careers begin. Policy Foundry Africa exists to start that preparation earlier.
Why this matters: read our founder's essay, Africa's Policy Gap Is a People Gap →
Our community of young Africans learning how policy works.
Assembly members work through one policy at a time. They read the full text, debate it, and question the experts who work on it, with short readings and discussions between sessions, career guidance, and opportunities shared along the way. The Assembly is open to anyone, anywhere, who wants to understand policy.
Join The AssemblyOur fellowship for researching, analysing, and writing policy.
The Foundry trains committed Assembly members to produce real policy work. Fellows learn policy research and analysis, write under expert review, and publish their work under their own names, building a portfolio for policy careers.
Fellows are selected from The Assembly.
