We are a group of young Africans navigating the unclear pathways into policy ourselves — figuring it out as we go, and building the structure we wish existed when we started.
Policy Foundry Africa is a policy club creating structured pathways for young Africans into policy careers. We're building a community where you can learn foundational skills, practice policy work, connect with professionals, and build a portfolio that opens doors.
Breaking into policy feels impossible.
The pathways are unclear. The entry points are hidden. There's nowhere to practice, no structured way to build skills, and no clear progression from interest to capability.
We believe policy careers should be accessible to anyone with the talent and drive to do the work. Not easier — accessible. Learnable. Structured.
That's why we exist.
We exist first for ourselves — a group of young Africans navigating the policy space, creating the structure we wish existed when we started.
And we exist for you:
If you're interested in policy but the path forward isn't clear, this is for you.
We operate through two interconnected spaces:
Free • Open to all
This is where you start. The Assembly is a learning community where you:
Application-based • For committed members
After 3 months active in The Assembly + 2 published outputs, you become eligible to apply. The Foundry is our selective core where you:
THE PROGRESSION
Assembly (learn & practice) → Eligibility (3 months + 2 outputs) → Foundry (produce real work with mentorship)
This is where your policy career starts.
Learn. Practice. Connect. Build.
